Green bins were implement at a $17M fee for 2010 to the tax payers. The idea behind the green bins should be to better clean up our environment but they are instead put into place to prolong the life of our Trail Road landfill by 5 years. If the $17M becomes an annual fee for this service — which I don’t doubt it will — accumulated over those 5 years is $85M we could put towards building a better disposal or incineration method to deal with the garbage. After those additional 5 year we supposedly save by using the green bins we still come down to having the same problem. Needing a new landfill.
With the system the city currently has in place, we still have problems properly disposing of the plastic and paper we currently recycle, which then ends up in our land fills anyway. What do you think will happen when there are no buyers for the garbage we are sending to be composted with the green bin program. So far, I have not heard of anyone wanting to buy the compost we are paying so much for. Then again, why are we paying to supply someone else with a product they can make profit from.
As far as I have understood, Orgaworld has a 20 year contract with the city for implementing the green bin (source separated organics) program — doesn’t a 20 year contract seem a little ridiculous for something no one wants — and if we do not provided the required amount of compost as per the contract states we are required to compensate for the lack of profits that Orgaworld will make.
Does it make sense to anyone that the city is implementing a program to compost the garbage that will decompose naturally in our landfills all on its own?
I have currently heard some interesting ways the Ottawa residence are planing on using their Green Bins: Beer Cooler, Lugging bird seed around the yard, Outhouse and Sell it on Ebay.
So my question to you: HOW DO YOU PLAN TO USE YOUR GREEN BIN?
There is no doubt in mind thinking long term that the best solution for cars is hydrogen cars. In the long term if we turn to electric vehicles you have to wonder what will happen to all those batteries? Think all the batteries in your household and what happens to them. Most people through batteries in the garbage.
You would be surprised looking at speech after speech from nearly every president giving their word that they will have energy independence on foreign oil and nothing has been done since 1977! How the hell can we believe and trust anything these overpaid useless idiots have to say! This is ridiculous!
Ron Paul is a republican from Texas as you may already know him as he was the last republican to withdraw from the presidential elections. He became very popular in the U.S as he shared different views compared to other candidates, especially when speaking about the U.S monetary fundamentals.
The economy has hit a nose dive; you would think the U.S would appoint someone else in charge rather than Paulson (Federal Reserve chairmen)! I think all congressmen and people should be working with Ron Paul in restoring the economy. I would take Ron Paul seriously when he says the feds are digging the hole deeper.

This is a pretty neat concept demonstrated in the video shown below. The device captures energy when the wind vibrates a special material at a fast frequency and then converts it into energy.
They tell Canadians that their vote counts but when the politicians all act like babies, how do you even get their message? The debates were a disgrace! In US politics, at least we can see their leaders ending a sentence without a jackass interrupting him or her (I don’t want to be sexist).
I tried to listen to what each party had to say to help me choose which party to vote for but it seems like everybody is attacking Harper because he is in power. What happened to giving your views and goals and letting Canadians figure it out for themselves! Instead they just attack and barely talk about their own plan! This is disgusting!
Canadian debates should change. There should be a time to respond and a time to oppose. Then the Block Quebecois will have to shut up! Let Harper have his say and enough with the interruptions. I am not necessarily for Harper but it would be nice to find out what the man has to say. Watching the American debates was A LOT more informative as you can at least hear what they have to say. The moderator also takes control of the debate which is not the case for Canada. That is why Canadians understand more of American politics than Canadian politics.

If you have been following the elections in the U.S I hope for the sake of your country that you won’t be voting for Mccain! Taking the issues aside, look at who would really care and protect the american people. I think Obama is honest about the issues and looks to find common ground instead stabbing his oponent. Obama is presidential material! Not someone who will just say what people want him to say so he could win.
Obama is patient even when McCain stabs him with stupid dirty lies. Obama will stand his ground in a calm and asertive way and always prove him wrong.
